Hey, guys.
I have a braillenote, had it for years now. I've got a friend who wants to get one, but she says it's really hard. A year ago, another friend of mine, Claudia, couldn't get one either. Is it just me? I'm really not sure, because I didn't find it that hard to get one.
Thanks! It's just a curiosity question.
I am interested what you mean by hard to get one?
Are these not sold to the general public, and can be ordered online or by mail, or telephone easy?
If you mean the older braillenotes like the mPower, yes. Though the Apex is still actively being sold. You can still also find older machines up for sale on various mailing lists.
Also if you ask around some people may have the MPower available tht haven't listed it for sale as of yet. If you mean the BN classic, you won't find those anymore, and I would suggest you not.
Either the MPower or the Apex. Thanks for the help. I've already got one, but I'd love to get an older version.
If you're intrested in an older BN skimming the garage sale board on here might turn up some results, I've seen a couple come up here and again.
Why would you want the older version. MPowers are still being sold on different listserves, and apexes are certainly being offered by humanware. They're not hard to obtain at all.
I know. As for the older versions... I'm not sure, it's just I want to see how they've progressed.
It's not hard to get? Oh! Alright.
I just noticed the category that this was posted under: hear no evil see no evil. Are you asking about the deaf-blind communicator that comes with the BN, or the BN itself?
Oh... Oh, dear, posted under the wrong category! Any way of changing it?
I put it in "geeks are us".
i was thinking more accessible devices personally.
I believe you can get both the MPower and the Apex through Humanware itself. the BN MPower however comes with the deaf-blind communicator, as a package. I don't believe you can get the MPower itself through Humanware. I might be wrong here, but that is the impression i get from them anyway.
Thanks for moving it. And I'll have a look on the humanware website.
